Divine Parenting

Embracing Our Own Divinity and Living From The Heart

Technology

Divine parenting of our technologies is becoming more apparent to me.  After reading the book, One Child At A Time, and watching this YouTube video clip about Facebook, I am very concerned about the wellbeing of our children/youth and ourselves, considering all the social networking products out there now that people are joining.  I'm a recent Facebook addition myself, after finally succumbing to the pressures of others to join up.  It's nice, because I get to "see" some friends I haven't seen in a very long time, however, it's not crucial to my wellbeing, and it's something I could live without.

Child Abuse and the Clergy

The latest settlement news around clergy abuse in the US is the largest to date - $660 million.  In this article, it speaks to the apology to the victims, as well as the monetary settlement.

Though I have never understood the correlation of a crime to a monetary settlement, I guess the making of amends is what is most important.

I don't know believe there is anything that can make something like this "better" or easier to tolerate or live with.  I do know that the Radical Forgiveness process is very helpful.

Health Care for the Children

I'm wondering how much decisions such as these are impacted by "timing" (ie the election; the movie "Sicko," etc.).

Our children's health and welfare is of the highest importance.  Everything affects this, and so all aspects need to be addressed (prevention, poverty, homelessness, starvation, etc.).  Let's look at the "whole" rather than the western "reductionistic" view, or the piece-by-piece band-aid methodology.

Parenting the News

I don't know how long this video will stay up, but I found Michael Moore "divine parenting" the CNN television station amusing.  Michael "divine parents" in how own, unique way.

When I come across people who are willing, and have the strength and courage (aka "guts") to stand up to our entrenched infrastructures, it's worth it to spread the word.  I, personally, don't agree with everything Michael has to say, nor am I aware of his motives for what he does -- so I can't really gauge his integrity in all that I've seen.  Yet, there's something inspiring about him, and I like what he's trying to accomplish.

Love and light,
Sue

Pirates?

Yup -- real-life pirates.  This article speaks to the reality of piracy in our seas -- it does still exist, and mostly with oil tankers, etc.  It says that has been a dramatic increase in incidents in the last year.  Kidnapping on the seas...

Love and light,
Sue
